PIXELBUGMEMORY (2021)

is an audiovisual animation short that reflects on the meaning of home through the lens of sound, geography, and memory within the digital sphere of Google Earth. By overlaying animations, images, and sounds, I use the digital space to re-examine and challenge my feelings of displacement, grounding myself through geolocated sounds and images. All sounds, photos, and videos were captured by my father, Fady Kardous, in Damascus, Syria.
